Meet Our Staff

Kathy Opperman, Certified Life Coach, has a passion for helping others become the best version of themselves! A graduate of Gwynedd Mercy College, she practiced as a Registered Nurse in the 1980's. She later joined her family's business as a Realtor where she became a Manager, Trainer and then Owner. In 2011 after surgery for a rare skin cancer on her scalp, Kathy was inspired to open a different kind of Wellness Center in 2013. However, she discovered many people needed stress relief services and Life Coaching, but could not afford it. She was encouraged to start a non-Profit whose mission would be to help youth to adult to lead happier and successful lives. Pillars of Light and Love was formed in 2014 and became active in the Fall of 2015 after it received 501(c)3 tax deductible status from the IRS. In December of 2015, the Wellness Center was closed and Pillars of Light and Love became the main tenant of newly named building, the Empowering U Center. Pillars of Light and Love exists solely on donations, heavily funded by Kathy to keep it going. Kathy is completing a self-improvement book and teaches several workshops onsite and at local businesses on Stress and Time Management, Creating Peace in Your Life, and more. Many lives have been positively transformed at the Empowering U Center.  Kathy looks forward to growing Pillars so it may continue to serve and achieve it's mission of helping to create happy, confident, courageous and stress free children, teens and adults!

Patricia Mohan Gallagher, former Elementary School Teacher, is the author of seven books. She has appeared as a guest on the following shows: Oprah Winfrey, The CBS Early Show, Maury Povich, QVC, The 700 Club, CNN, CNBC, Financial News Network, and hundreds of other interview shows. In recent years, Patricia has started several community initiatives including Happy Flower Day, Claire’s Front Porch, 20 Wonderful Things for Seniors, and Team of Angels. Patricia leads many of our workshops for adults, children and seniors. Because of her family's personal struggles, Patricia has a passion for helping those with depression and sadness.  Her desire to help children at a young age to learn to be happy and cope has led her to facilitate our Courageous and Creative Kids summer program.

Genia Silva proudly joined the Pillars team in 2015. She draws from an additional 9 years of Property Management experience and a decade of hospitality, sales, and marketing experience. In her role as Executive Director, Genia is responsible for the marketing, communication and business development efforts for Pillars. In addition to strategic business development efforts, she directs media relations, branding, advertising, development and partnerships. Genia manages and oversees sponsorships, events, charitable contributions, marketing, fundraising, training and partnerships.  Genia also oversees all  day to day aspects and operations at the Empowering U Center . As a Certified Professional Coach, and founder of RainDance Life Coaching Genia also facilitates our Relationship workshops, Self-Improvement Support Groups, Children's Programs and offers one-on one Life Coaching.
